Pittsburgh man, N.J. woman charged in connection with last weekend's car meetups across Philadelphia

Alexis Boyce, 20, of Englishtown, New Jersey, and Albert Woynar, 18, of Pittsburgh, have been charged in connection with the large illegal car meetups that took place across Philadelphia last weekend. Two other people were previously arrested in connection with the meetups.

Earth will gain a 'mini moon' for two months in the form of a tiny asteroid

Earth's orbit will capture an asteroid on Sunday, called a 'mini moon.' The tiny asteroid, called PT5, will stick around until Nov. 25, according to NASA. It can't be seen with the naked eye or an amateur telescope, but can be seen with professional telescopes.

Second arrest made in investigation of last weekend's car meetups across Philadelphia

Deonte Vincent, 25, will face several charges for allegedly speeding toward police and striking a vehicle during the car meetups that took place across Philadelphia on Saturday night into Sunday. Police said another man was already arrested during the meetups. About 25 people were also given citations for their involvement, and 38 cars have been identified.

19-year-old pleads guilty in fatal 2022 Roxborough High School shooting

Zyhied Jones, 19, pleaded guilty Wednesday for his part in the Sept. 27, 2022, shooting that killed Nicolas Elizalde, 14, outside Roxborough High School. Jones, who was 17 at the time, was one of five suspects who allegedly fired more than 60 bullets at a group of football players on the 4700 block of Pechin Street.

N.J. police seize more than 4,000 marijuana plants worth over $1 million, prosecutor's office says

Hanzi Chen, Suxia Li and Deng Huan Hong were arrested and charged with running a marijuana production facility worth more than $1 million in Buena, Atlantic County, the prosecutor's office said. A three-month investigation by N.J. state police found that the three residences inhabited by the accused were converted into 'sophisticated' grow sites with over 4,000 plants. Hearings are scheduled for Wednesday.

Little Walter's chosen among New York Times' top 50 restaurants in the U.S.

East Kensington Polish restaurant Little Walter's was one of three restaurants representing Pennsylvania, and the only Philadelphia eatery, on the New York Times' 2024 'Restaurant List,' which published Monday. Sweet Amalia Market & Kitchen, of Gloucester County, was the only restaurant chosen from New Jersey. The list features the top 50 restaurants in the U.S., as chosen by New York Times reporters and editors.
