'The Four Seasons,' which was created by and stars Upper Darby native Tina Fey, will premiere May 1 on Netflix. The show, based on a 1981 film of the same name, follows a group of friends that vacation throughout the year and are forced to contend with a surprising breakup. West Philly native Colman Domingo also stars. The first teaser was released Thursday.

Reopening of MLK Drive Bridge pushed back to September after cold weather slowed repairs

The reopening of the Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Bridge has been pushed back to September, following a two-year rehabilitation project that involves replacing and widening the MLK Drive Bridge deck to meet current standards, ensure structural integrity and accommodate a side path for pedestrians and cyclists. The repairs were previously estimated to be completed by this spring, but cold weather affected construction and caused the delays, the Streets Department said. The MLK Drive Bridge spans the Schuylkill River near the Philadelphia Museum of Art and connects MLK Drive to Eakins Oval.

Toddler stools sold on Amazon recalled because they can collapse, causing injuries

About 10,300 Onasti-branded toddler stools sold on Amazon have been recalled after being found to pose serious fall and injury hazards, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. There have been four reports of the plastic, triangular-shaped stools collapsing or tipping over while being used. This has led to two reported injuries, including a brain injury to a toddler and bruising to another child, according to the CPSC. Anyone with the recalled product should stop using it and can contact the retailer for a repair kit.

'Bridgerton' star Phoebe Dynevor reportedly joins M. Night Shyamalan's new film

Phoebe Dynevor, of Netflix series 'Bridgerton,' has reportedly joined the upcoming movie by Philly-area filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan. The film, a supernatural romantic thriller, is being created by Shyamalan and bestselling novelist Nicholas Sparks. Dynevor will star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, whose involvement was announced earlier this year.

New SEPTA Regional Rail schedules take effect to improve service reliability

New SEPTA Regional Rail schedules took effect on Sunday in an effort to improve service reliability. The changes include regular adjustments as well as updates on approximately 20% of Regional Rail service that aim to reduce the likelihood that a small delay will spread and cause additional delays, according to SEPTA. There will be 31 assistant conductors added to peak trains, so more cars can be open. The newest vehicles in SEPTA's fleet will also be used during peak service as much as possible, which will allow for faster boarding.

Mütter Museum to display work of Philly photographer who followed local nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic

The 'Trusted Messengers' exhibition, commemorating five years of COVID-19 in Philadelphia, will be on display at the Mütter Museum from Saturday, March 15, through Feb. 2, 2026. The display will include a series of photos and interviews with local nurses by West Philly-based photographer Kyle Cassidy. It will also delve into Philly's response to the pandemic, including vaccine development at Penn’s Weissman Lab, and how public health officials used materials like flyers and street art to spread the latest information and try to cut through misinformation.

For consulting on Peacock's 'Long Bright River,' Savage Sisters is getting a new recovery home

The Peacock series 'Long Bright River' consulted with Kensington-based nonprofit Savage Sisters, run by Sarah Laurel, on its portrayal of substance use and harm reduction in the neighborhood. Peacock announced Friday it is donating funding toward a new recovery home for the organization.
