Man charged with arson in connection with Ocean County wildfire, prosecutor says

Richard Shashaty, 37, of Brick Township, was charged in connection with an Ocean County wildfire that has burned approximately 350 acres since Wednesday, authorities said. He was charged with arson and violation of the regulatory provisions relating to firearms. Shashaty is accused of igniting the fire while shooting Dragons Breath 12 gauge shotgun rounds at the Central Jersey Rifle Range in Jackson Township.

Dilworth Park's holiday attractions open Friday, Nov. 15. The Rothman Orthopaedics Ice Rink and Cabin will be open daily through Sunday, Feb. 23. The Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market will be open through Wednesday, Jan. 1. The Wintergarden lights and topiary display will be open until Sunday, March 9.

Campfires on Pa. state game lands are banned indefinitely amid dry conditions

Building fires is temporarily prohibited on state game lands amid ongoing dry conditions, the Pennsylvania Game Commission said. The restrictions come as drought conditions have been declared in 35 Pennsylvania counties. There were 100 reported wildfires across the state in the past week.
