The next Christmas album from the Eagles players features Boyz II Men, but not Taylor Swift

'A Philly Special Christmas Party,' the third holiday album from the Philadelphia Eagles trio of Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, features Boyz II Men and several other musicians with Philadelphia ties, but Taylor Swift is not among them. The charity album from The Philly Specials will be released Nov. 29, 2024.

Proposed five-story apartment building in Germantown would have 75 units

A proposed 96,645 square-foot, five-story building would be located at 5932-42 Germantown Avenue near the vacant Germantown Town Hall and former Germantown High School. It would offer 75 units, two commercial spaces, 38 parking spots on the ground floor and a shared residential roof deck. The project is being developed by Iron Stone Real Estate Partners, and will be considered at the Sept. 3 meeting of the city's Civic Design Review committee.

Temple University warns community of scam involving callers impersonating police

Temple University's Department of Public Safety is warning students and their parents and guardians of a scam in which callers are impersonating university police. Early Saturday morning, two Temple parents received phone calls from someone who identified themselves as a Temple police officer. The caller told the parents their sons had been arrested and they needed to send money in order for their children to be released. The parents did not send cash. Temple police are investigating the calls, which came from a 215 area code.

The campaign by Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation's Read by 4th program aims to promote early literacy for Philadelphia children.

Manayunk's Flakely Gluten Free bakery will open its second 'pastry ATM' this fall at the Free Will Collective, at 31 Cricket Ave. in Ardmore. The vending machine holds Flakely's bestselling items, including gluten-free croissants, bagels, baguettes and cakes. The company was also named the No. 5 best gluten-free bakery in the country this week in a USA Today's Readers' Choice vote.

In the summer of 2025, Hersheypark will open Twizzlers Twisted Gravity ride, a pendulum attraction that will ascend 137 feet and reach speeds of 68 mph. The theme park referred to it as the 'tallest Screamin' Swing in the world.'
