The Dallas Cowboys may have lost one of the best players on their roster on Thursday, as cornerback Trevon Diggs is feared to have torn an ACL, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Diggs is one of the NFL's elite defensive playmakers, as he has 18 INTs in just 47 career games. He has 4 INTs in 5 career games against the Eagles.

The Cowboys' starting trio at corner was Diggs, Stephon Gilmore, who the team signed in free agency this offseason, and second-year slot corner Daron Bland, who was very good as a rookie in 2022 while leading the Cowboys with 5 INTs.

Bland has inside-outside versatility, and will almost certainly move into a starting role opposite Gilmore. Who will be the No. 3 cornerback going forward isn't quite as clear. Jourdan Lewis could become the starting slot corner, or perhaps Noah Igbinoghene could play on the outside in nickel with Bland sliding inside to the slot.

The Cowboys also have sixth-round rookie Eric Scott as depth, and third-year pro Nahshon Wright, who is currently on injured reserve.

Diggs signed a monster five year deal worth $97 million this offseason, which made him the fifth-highest paid cornerback in the NFL on an average annual basis, per OverTheCap.com.

UPDATE: The Cowboys confirmed that it is indeed a torn ACL for Diggs.
