Shortly before 4 a.m., police responded to a call for a report of a person with a gun outside Club Onyx, located at 2908 S. Christopher Columbus Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they found a female victim suffering from various cuts to her left shoulder and left calf. The victim told investigators she was standing inside the club's vestibule when she observed a fight taking place between a large group of patrons.
An unknown male walked into the front door, removed a gun and fired one time, striking a glass door that leads to the floor of the club. The victim was struck by the shattered glass and was later transported to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.
Authorities described the suspect as a black male in his early to mid-twenties. He was last seen wearing a black hat and a black jacket. He was armed with a 9mm handgun.
An investigation by the South Detective Division remains ongoing.
