Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Radko Gudas played an excellent first period on Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He made a couple of nice plays in the defensive zone, including a well-timed hit. His Corsi differential at 5v5 was a +7. He threaded a gorgeous pass to Michael Raffl for an assist.
Gudas was good, and then he got lucky. It’s not often that you score from the red line:

Curtis McElhinney needs to stop that shot, but hey, the Flyers (and Gudas) will take it.
