Watch: Pennsylvania elk on live camera from the Game Commission

Be warned, though, as nature may be 'difficult to watch'

There's nothing like the great outdoors. Except, of course, enjoying nature from your couch.

Which is exactly what the Pennsylvania Game Commission is allowing you to do with their new "elk cam."

The camera, located in a field off limits to humans on state game lands in Elk County, provides a live stream of an area in Northwestern Pennsylvania where elk call home.

It's launch comes at the onset of bugling season, or in other words, when elk start getting intimate.

The commission reminds people that nothing beats seeing wildlife in person and also warns that elk cam viewers shouldn't expect the most thrilling television:

Keep in mind that there may be periods of time when no wildlife is visible on camera. Be aware that, at times, nature can be difficult to watch.

Let's take a look at the live feed on Wednesday, Sept. 9., around 3 p.m.

If you've got the patience (and the time), you can watch the live stream here
