Adam Scott entered play Sunday seven shots behind leader Jimmy Walker (-11), but in his quest to catch the ever-growing group of players near the top of the PGA Championship leaderboard, may have hit one of the best shots of the tournament.
After a bogey on the seventh hole dropped him back to even for the day, Scott came to the tee on eight and piped a 311-yard drive down the middle on the short par 4. Playing his second from just 69 yards out, the 36-year-old Australian landed his pitch just short of the hole. It took one bounce and then disappeared from view.

Unfortunately for Scott, the eagle was sandwiched between a pair of bogeys. Through the first twelve holes of the final round, he is just one-under for the day and five-under for the tournament (tied for 15th), six strokes behind Walker.
Earlier on Sunday, Jason Day gave us a nominee for putt of the tournament with this 74-foot bomb for birdie and a temporary share of the lead in the third round.

While that's one of the longest putts made all season by anyone on tour, it not even Day's longest. Earlier this year, he drained a 75-footer at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
Now playing his fourth round, Day is one-over through six. That puts him at nine-under for the entire PGA Championship and two shots off the pace.
