The man who allegedly punched a woman in the face in an Atlantic City park, along with the man who allegedly filmed the incident, were indicted Feb. 24, according to authorities.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday that Anthony Faulkner, 23, and Iben Hunter, 25, have been formally charged on counts of assault after the video of the victim being knocked to the ground at Brown’s Park went viral.
In October, police arrested Hunter, who they say was the one seen winding up and striking the woman with a handgun tucked under his sleeve.
Police made the arrest after being alerted of the video, which was originally published on Facebook.
The victim has been identified as 44-year-old Emily Baccari of Atlantic City. Officers discovered Baccari lying motionless behind a parked vehicle before being made aware of the video. She was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center with head trauma.
After arresting Hunter, police say their investigation led them to bring Faulkner into custody for allegedly being the one who recorded the assault.
Hunter and Faulkner, both of Atlantic City, face charges of aggravated assault and conspiracy. Hunter faces additional charges of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury, unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of a handgun for unlawful purpose.
