Temple vs. Notre Dame game sells out

First time two home games sold out since move to South Philly

The hottest ticket in town right now is birds football - and we're not talking about the Eagles.

The Temple Owls, fresh off a thumping of Tulane and reeling from a 5-0 start, have sold out their contest against Notre Dame at Lincoln Financial Field this upcoming Halloween.

That marks the first time the Owls have had two home sellouts in one season since the team moved to the South Philly sports complex in 1976. The other this year was the season opener against Penn State.

Granted, the demand for tickets is probably not just due to the team's great season so far.

The 14th-ranked Fighting Irish (5-1) have a fan base that transcends regional boundaries, and there are sure to be plenty of people sporting the blue and gold for the Oct. 31 game as this is the two teams' first meeting in Philly.

Owls faithful came out strong despite a large presence of Nittany Lions supporters for Temple's opener, and it will be interesting to see the split of Temple and Notre Dame fans.

It should also be noted that game time hasn't been decided yet, and may not be set until as late as the Sunday (Oct. 25) before. TV Broadcasting information hasn't been announced yet either.
