A new gigantic restaurant/market/outdoor garden will open in Fishtown this summer. Suraya, owned by powerhouse trio Greg Root, Nick Kennedy, and Nathalie Richan, will be located at 1528 Frankford Ave.
The Levantine eatery, totaling 10,000 square feet, will focus on cuisine from Lebanon, Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Israel, Palestine and Egypt.
Here's what to expect in each section of Suraya:
The Market: Traditional Levantine bazaar meets modern all-day café. Go for spices, prepared foods, coffee and cocktails.
The Dining Room: "Restaurant guests can expect a vibrant energy and an eat-with-your-hands dining etiquette, mimicking a true Middle Eastern dining experience," states a press release on Suraya.
The Garden: Step into an outdoor oasis for creative cocktails. One will be the official drink of Lebanon. Arak is an unsweetened anise-flavored alcohol.
Suraya is expected to open in late summer 2017. Check back for updates.
