On Saturday, Sept. 28, Chestnut Hill College and Women Veterans ROCK – the fastest growing military outreach community of its kind in the U.S. – will co-host "Stand Up, Be Counted."

The event featuring federal, state and local representatives is designed to engage and empower women veterans and military families. It will take place on the Chestnut Hill College campus, located at 9601 Germantown Ave.

U.S. Rep. and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard will deliver a message at the event via Skype. Also offering words of support via video will be Pete Buttigieg, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate. Other speakers include U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans, State Rep. Mary Jo Daley and Philadelphia Councilperson David Oh.

The event will also include two forums, "Census 2020" and "Women Veterans Countdown to 2020 Town Hall," as well as a podcast segment highlighting women veterans.

"Stand Up, Be Counted" is also a celebratory kickoff of the Women Veterans ROCK Civic Leadership Institute, a series dedicated to assisting women veterans and active military women in getting involved in community-based leadership opportunities.

The public event is geared toward military women and military families, and will begin at 3 p.m. More information can be found here.
