The Coliseum in Richmond, Va. was the host for the first SmackDown-only pay-per-view in nine years on Sunday night. The card heading into Sunday night felt a little underwhelming, but there was no chance the superstars competing in the ring were going to let the crowd feel that way. The Six-Pack Women’s Challenge set the tone and the show actually winded up being one of the best of the year.

The first WWE brand-exclusive pay-per-view since 2007 takes place at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Va. Sunday night. Since WWE combined Raw and SmackDown for pay-per-views that year, and then eventually got rid of the brand extension altogether in 2011, it seems like there hasn’t been any distinction between the two brands until now. We’ll see two new championships created and new champions crowned, as well as a huge World Championship match.

It was the last SmackDown Live show before their first brand-only pay-per-view since 2007 as Backlash comes our way this Sunday. But, first, the SmackDown crew stopped at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb. for one last tease before we see at least two new champions crowned on Sunday night.

Labor Day signals the unofficial end of summer every year, and there's usually a big episode of Monday Night Raw to go with it. That’s what I was expecting Monday night from the Sprint Center Arena in Kansas City, Mo., especially seven days removed from Kevin Owens becoming the new WWE Universal Champion.

Despite the obvious omission by Stephanie McMahon naming Finn Bálor the former WWE Universal Champion, the Raw commissioner said multiple times how the first-ever WWE Universal Champion would be crowed at the Toyota Center in Houston Monday night. I took it as a sign for the future, when Bálor returns to reclaim the title he never lost and McMahon just kind of rubbing his face in it because she’s, you know, a heel. Some people got upset because some of them still take professional wrestling too seriously. For me, it’s all about a wait-and-see approach.

Following a relatively blasé showing for SmackDown at SummerSlam on Sunday night, the WWE’s blue brand looked to ramp up their brand on Tuesday night from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. With rumors running rampant that SmackDown would introduce their own tag team and women’s titles, they unveiled the two newest championships for the blue brand on Tuesday night.

Not even 24 hours after becoming the first-ever WWE Universal Champion, Finn Bálor had to relinquish the title at the beginning of Monday Night Raw due to a shoulder injury suffered during his SummerSlam match against Seth Rollins on Sunday night.

Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Barclays Center got a taste of WWE action for the second night in a row as SummerSlam rolled into town on Sunday. It very well was set up to be possibly the best SummerSlam ever since its move to four hours, including a two-hour preshow.

One year after what could be considered the best show NXT has ever put on, the developmental brand – which has really surpassed that and become a third brand of WWE in the eyes of money – returned to Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Barclays Center one day before Sunday’s SummerSlam event to up the ante for the main roster one more time.
