The WWE World Championship was on the line Tuesday night as SmackDown Live emanated from Cleveland’s Quicken Loans Arena, which is also known as the home of the NBA World Champion Cleveland Cavaliers. A little under two weeks before SmackDown’s next pay-per-view, we would find out together if AJ Styles or Dean Ambrose would be heading into No Mercy as the WWE World Champion.

One day removed from the first Raw brand pay-per-view since 2007, the red brand brought their talents to the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati on Monday night. While there was the first presidential debate at Hofstra University in New York and the 10th anniversary of the Superdome re-opening after Hurricane Katrina for ‘Monday Night Football,’ the people in attendance at the U.S. Bank Arena and the people watching on television at home were treated to two rematches from Clash of Champions.

The Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis held the first Raw post-brand extension pay-per-view on Sunday night. While the slight name change for the September pay-per-view brought back some fond memories from WCW’s old Clash of the Champions specials, this pay-per-view would be remembered for a few different reasons.

The Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Ala. was the host for SmackDown Live on Tuesday night. Dean Ambrose and John Cena met in the main event ahead of their participation in the No Mercy main event in October for AJ Styles’ WWE World Championship. But there was another big announcement waiting in the wings after the main event was finished.

The crowd at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Fla. was treated to an amazing showing of cruiserweight professional wrestling action on Wednesday night as WWE presented the semifinals and final of one of the summer’s best wrestling tournaments, the Cruiserweight Classic.
