A listeria outbreak linked to sliced deli meats has been reported in 12 states, including Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the CDC said. The outbreak has caused 28 reported illnesses. There is one reported illness in Pennsylvania and two in New Jersey. There have also been two deaths reported, including one in New Jersey.

3 dead, 6 injured in mass shooting at party in West Philadelphia, police say

Three people are dead and six others are injured after nine people were shot early Sunday morning at a large party on the 1200 block of North Alden Street in West Philadelphia, authorities say. Police believe there were multiple shooters, but the investigation is ongoing.

Cork & Candles is opening its University City location on Wednesday, July 24, at 3421 Walnut St. near the University of Pennsylvania's campus. There it will run BYOB candle-making workshops, host private events and sell specialty candles. The new location will join Cork & Candles' other two locations in Center City and King of Prussia.

Mannequin from the movie 'Mannequin' to be special guest at Friday screening in East Passyunk

An outdoor screening of the 1987 movie 'Mannequin,' which was primarily filmed in Philadelphia, will be held Friday, July 19, at 7 p.m. at Mifflin Triangle (1845 East Passyunk). The free event will feature cocktails, music and an appearance by Emmy — a mannequin used in the film that is now displayed in the South Fellini shop on East Passyunk.
