SEPTA has resumed normal service on the Broad Street Line from Walnut-Locust to AT&T Station Wednesday morning after temporarily suspending service because a person was fatally hit by a train.
The transit agency said on Twitter that the service was suspended sometime around 7:15 a.m. because of a fatality. Local media reports said the person was killed after being struck at the Tasker-Morris Station.
Shuttle bus service had been implemented on the affected route and, commuters were told they should expect delays and overcrowded service until further notice.
Normal service resumed around 10:30 a.m.
The incident follows a difficult 24 hours for the transit agency. On Tuesday morning, two out-of-service Market-Frankford Line trains crashed in Upper Darby, causing four non-life-threatening injuries.
Later that evening, signal problems on some Regional Rail trains caused delays of up to an hour.
