The Sixers' initial injury report for Friday night's game against the New Orleans Pelicans lists Joel Embiid (left foot sprain) as out, which would mark his third consecutive missed game due to the injury.

Paul George (left groin tightness) is probable, while veterans Andre Drummond (left toe sprain) and Kyle Lowry (right hip sprain) are both out.

Sixers head coach Nick Nurse said after the team's Thursday morning practice that Lowry, Drummond and KJ Martin -- who remains out with a stress reaction in his foot -- were the only players not to participate.

Embiid, who suffered the left foot sprain near the end of the Sixers' win in Boston on Christmas Day, played through the injury in three out of four games (the contest he missed was due to rest on a back-to-back) before missing games on Monday and Wednesday.

George had played in 14 straight games -- more than double his previous longest streak of consecutive appearances -- before being listed as out for Wednesday's game with left groin tightness.

Drummond missed three games with his left toe sprain and played in just the front leg of the team's back-to-back upon returning, before sitting out a game and returning once again for one contest. He missed two straight games since that stretch, signaling a greater significance in the toe sprain than previously anticipated.

Lowry has missed two straight games with soreness in a right hip which has bothered him dating back to November, when he missed five straight games due to a strain. Now, the ailment is being listed as a sprain.

For New Orleans, Brandon Ingram, Herb Jones and Trey Murphy III are all out, while Dejounte Murray is questionable. Zion Williamson is not listed on the injury report.
