Regional Rail conductors will resume checking tickets onboard weekday trains departing from five SEPTA stations later this month.

Beginning July 10, all Regional Rail passengers traveling from Temple, Jefferson, Suburban, 30th Street and University City stations must have a pre-paid fare before entering the train platform.

All tickets will be inspected and punched by SEPTA's fare collection personnel located at the stairways to the train platforms and returned to the passenger.

Punched tickets must then be presented to the conductor on the train for collection.

The changes will impact passengers traveling on weekday trains between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Passengers who use weekly or monthly passes must present them to the fare collection personnel and conductors.

Conductors stopped checking tickets last summer when SEPTA was forced to pull its entire fleet of Silverline cars from the rails, leading to crowded trains.
