The School District of Philadelphia has announced that schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 26, as the cleanup continues from the weekend's blizzard.
Also canceled for Tuesday are all School District of Philadelphia prekindergarten programs.
Philadelphia school district's administrative offices will be open Tuesday following a two hour delay.
Archdiocese of Philadelphia High Schools and Catholic grade schools within Philadelphia will be closed Tuesday due to ongoing travel difficulties associated with the weekend’s winter storm.
Archdiocesan high schools and Catholic elementary schools in the suburban counties normally follow the decisions of their corresponding local public school district and submit closure status independently.
Many school districts report they are continuing to reassess conditions and advise parents to monitor school district websites and social media later this evening and Tuesday morning.
In Montgomery County, so far, the Methacton School District, Spring-Ford School Distrct, and Pottsgrove School District will be closed again Tuesday. Many districts are on a two-hour delay, including the Upper Merion, Colonial and Upper Dublin school districts.
In Bucks County, the New Hope-Solebury and Pennsbury school districts will open on a two-hour delay. There will be no morning prekindergarten at Pennsbury School District.
In Chester County, the Owen J. Roberts School District and Octorara School District will be closed Tuesday. The following districts will open on a two-hour delay: Downingtown Area School District, Tredyffrin/Easttown School District and Great Valley School District. In Great Valley, there will be no morning kindergarten and the Great Beginnings program on a delay.
In Delaware County, the Chester Upland School District's schools will be closed Tuesday, and Valley Forge Military Academy will open on a two-hour delay.
In South Jersey, the following school districts will open with a two-hour delay: Pemberton, Vineland and Winslow Township.
