Rescue Me: Daisy Duke

Our very adoptable pet of the week

Daisy Duke ACCT Philly/for PhillyVoice

Daisy Duke

Despite her sassy name, Daisy Duke is a gentle and sweet older gal who is looking for a couch companion. She enjoys slow, ambling walks, but mainly for sniffing, as Daisy Duke is blind. Don’t let that turn you off, though — she doesn’t seem to mind, so why should we?

  • Specifics
  • Daisy Duke
  • canine
  • Chihuahua
  • 10 years old
  • spayed female
  • small, 18 pounds
  • housetrained: unknown

She loves head scratches and full body rub-downs (who doesn’t?) and isn’t asking for much — just a new owner who will accept her typical senior maladies and give her the loving home she deserves during her golden years. Senior pets have an extraordinary amount of love and gratitude to offer; won’t you give Daisy Duke a chance? Email adopt@acctphilly.org to learn more, or simply come down to the shelter.

ACCT Philly strives to make adopting a pet an enjoyable, stress-free process. They ask that you bring a photo ID, proof of address and, if adopting a dog, any children or resident dogs that will be living with your new family member. After filling out a short adoption application, their adoption counselors will help match you with the perfect pet.

All animals are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and have been examined by a veterinarian. Adoption fees and specials vary month to month and can be found on the ACCT website along with adoption locations and hours.
