Police: Gunman, 15, charged in fatal shooting of Camden teenager

A Camden County Police Department is seen in the city of Camden.

A teenager is dead and another is in police custody following a shooting in Camden, New Jersey, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office announced.

The incident occurred Saturday around 5:30 p.m. on the 1200 block of Mechanic Street.

Officers responded to a 911 call and found Antiqouns Beatty, 15, of Camden, suffering from a gunshot wound lying on the street. He was rushed to Cooper University Hospital where he was pronounced dead about 20 minutes later.

A 15-year-old boy, who was not identified, was arrested and charged with aggravated manslaughter. He has been sent to the Juvenile Detention Center in Lakeland.

The investigation is ongoing.
