Considering all that has gone on in Baltimore over the past few days, baseball is the least of the city’s concerns. The Orioles have responded to the developing situation by deciding to play Wednesday’s game against the Chicago White Sox at 2:05 with Camden Yards closed to the public. They’ll make up Monday and Tuesday’s games during a doubleheader a month from today.
In addition, the O’s are moving their three-game weekend series to Saint Petersburg, Florida and Tropicana Field to take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Here’s the full statement:

Baltimore will officially be considered the home team at The Trop, which is reminiscent of a 2010 series in Philadelphia that saw the Toronto Blue Jays wear their home white uniforms. If you’ll recall, the G-20 Summit in Toronto forced that specific switcheroo. I thought Calkins Media’s Kevin Cooney brought up an interesting point about two closer alternatives to Tampa:
I'm stunned that the Orioles didn't move the games to CBP or Nats Park since both facilities are open.

I would’ve been curious to see how many fans showed up at a potential O’s-Rays series as Citizens Bank Park. As for tomorrow’s game being played in an empty stadium, this was a pretty funny thought in the middle of what is a very sad situation:
The incentive for a heckler to sneak into Camden Yards tomorrow to offer the greatest "YOU SUCK!" in baseball history is palpable.
