"An homage to all mothers and grandmothers nourishing their family since the beginning of time," Gigi Italian Bistro BYOB proudly states. The restaurant is named after the mother of owner and chef Craig Wilson.
Wilson and his fiancee opened restaurant-bar Maya.J earlier this year on Main Street in Manayunk and will soon open Gigi a few doors down. The opening date is set for Aug. 3.
The new restaurant will serve classic Italian dishes, with plenty of sauces and gravy. Some of the menu staples are: Fusilli Parmigiano, Shrimp Scampi, Vongole Clams, Chicken Parmigiana and Margherita Pizza.
Dinner service begins at 4 p.m. and ends between 9-11 p.m. There are 46 seats in the dining room and eight seats on Main Street for those who prefer to dine al fresco.
