As the Philadelphia region prepares for a potential wintry commute on Friday morning, a hole in the city's heart may be closer to making a speedy recovery.
Last month, Philadelphia mourned the departure of beloved NBC10 meteorologist Sheena Parveen, who left the station after nearly five years to take a position at NBC4 in Washington, D.C.
On Thursday, the Philly area learned who will be stepping in to fill Parveen's hallowed shoes. Hailing from Chicago, it's Fox32's Tammie Souza, who announced her decision to come to the City of Brotherly Love in a post on Facebook.
"Soon I will be joining a fantastic team in Philadelphia where I look forward to new challenges, making more friends and becoming part of that community," Souza said.
Souza has spent the last six years in Chicago, where she worked for both Fox and NBC stations.
Granted, it will not be easy for Souza to unseat Parveen's place in Philadelphia weather lore, but the encouraging news is that she does know how to have a good time doing her job (h/t Crossing Broad).
Souza will finish up at Fox32 at the end of February before starting at NBC10.
