A man was injured Tuesday after he was shot near a playground and three schools in West Philadelphia, NBC10 reports.
An unidentified gunman opened fire on the 37-year-old victim on 48th and Aspen streets before fleeing the scene. The man was struck in the back.
He was transported to Presbyterian Hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
No arrests have been made.
The shooting occurred near a playground, the Middle Years Alternative School, Parkway West High School and Sulzberger Jr. High School.
The incident remains under investigation as police search for the suspect.
