Main Line families looking for help and Main Line college and high students looking for work meet your possible solution: GoPaperBoy.com.

The start-up website, the brainchild of a Gladwyne, Montgomery County, mom, seeks to connect families and others looking for assistance and young people looking for some extra cash and resume-building experience.

“It’s a cost-efficient way for students to market their skills,” founder Jennifer Padova Gallagher said. It’s also a way, she said, for teens to connect with influential families who can help steer them into internships and jobs. She came up with the idea after looking for help raising her four children. Gallagher officially announced the site in mid-February and has about 100 students signed up looking for work, she said.

It’s free for students to market themselves and $14.99 a month for a family to become a member of the website and have access to student profiles, but there are other pricing plans. Gallagher warns, however, that GoPaperBoy only provides introductions.

“Once they connect, it’s up to them to set terms and vet each other out,” said Gallagher, a former attorney for Ballard Spahr and an MBA graduate from Temple.

The business, which has concentrated on recruiting workers from area colleges, is now trying to get the word out at Lower Merion and Harriton high schools and eventually Philadelphia, as well.

“The Main Line is a great prototype," Gallagher said. But her sights are wider. “We hope to expand into the city and across the river."
