Comedian Kathy Griffin is kicking off a new, 23-stop comedy tour Thursday, just one year after posing with the infamous faux severed head of President Donald Trump that caused a wave of mayhem and backlash.
Ahead of the new tour, Griffin spoke with USA Today about the political nature of her comedy, criticizing other comics who don't mention Trump in their acts, specifically Philly native Kevin Hart.

"I do feel like this is such an anxiety-ridden time for everyone that there is a thirst for all kinds of comedy," Griffin told USA Today, saying her act is full of material about the Trump administration.
"Look, if you want to not hear about Trump at all, go see Kevin Hart. He doesn't even mention Trump. I, personally, think that's a p*ssy move, because he's a black man. But I guess he's selling more tickets than I ever will."
Griffin also commented on the severed-head photo, saying, "Every day that passes, more people realize not only was my photo literally harmless, but completely legal."
Griffin's words have caused growing backlash on social media, some noting that Hart's stand-up has never been political.
Hart has not commented on Griffin's statements.
