Typically, it’s the restaurant diner's role to tip the wait staff, but one impassioned Kansas woman who was lucky enough to be serving the state’s governor left a tip for the politician in lieu of her own: ‘Tip the schools.’
Chloe Hough’s note was meant as an ingenious jab at the state official for a controversial school funding program he had initiated and passed in March without public input by voters.
The waitress, Chloe Hough, posted a photo of the check with her handwritten note to Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback on Facebook, and it quickly went viral and was picked up by local and national media outlets, including NBC News.
Hough’s note was meant as an ingenious jab at the state official for a controversial school funding program he had initiated and passed in March without public input by voters.
According to the opposition, the program will be a financial burden on Kansas’ public schools, though Brownback said it should not create cuts.
