Introducing the #ChipTracker, and a podcast

Follow the Eagles coach as he traverses the nation

There isn't a head coach in the NFL who attends more football events than Chip Kelly. Last offseason, for example, Chip attended at least 13 Pro Days, including Pittsburgh, Ohio State, Temple, Alabama, Louisville, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M, Navy, Penn State and LSU. The Eagles' first two draft picks -- Marcus Smith of Louisville and Jordan Matthews of Vanderbilt -- were of course part of that tour.

This offseason, Air Chip is at it again. Tim McManus of Birds 24/7 noted that Kelly has already attended the National Championship Game between Oregon and Ohio State in Arlington, TX, the NFLPA Bowl Game in Carson, CA, and the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, FL.

Since Chip now has "the juice," (nearly full control of the team), we'll keep running tabs on all his whereabouts. Here's where he has been so far:

I'm sure he probably goes home in between trips, but...

  3. NFLPA Bowl, Carson, CA
  4. East-West Shrine Game, St. Petersburg, FL

There's a new IgglesPod podcast up with me and Tommy Lawlor of IgglesBlitz.com. Among the topics we discussed:

  1. Most pressing team needs
  2. The Eagles quarterback situation: Nick Foles, Matt Barkley, Marcus Mariota, and the debate over whether or not the Eagles should target a QB other than Mariota over addressing other team needs.
  3. The offensive line.
  4. Inside linebacker.
  5. Running back.
  6. The time I watched a football game while sitting in the middle of a fire.
