Parents were most likely to name their children after either a cast member from the television series One Tree Hill or the Unite States' seventh president this past year.
To be fair, those aren't neccearily the two people moms and dads had in mind, but either way Sophia and Jackson topped the Baby Center's most popular baby names list for 2015.
This is Jackson's third straight year topping the list for boys, according to the center. Sophia is even more dominant, however, as it has topped the girls' list every year since 2010 (in 2009 it was second behind Isabella).
Behind those names are several that have been staples on the list for the past several years, including Aiden and Liam for boys and Emma and Olivia for girls.
Here's the rest of the top 10 for both boys and girls:
Girls
1. Sophia
2. Emma
3. Olivia
4. Ava
5. Mia
6. Isabella
7. Zoe
8. Lily
9. Emily
10. Madison
Boys
1. Jackson
2. Aiden
3. Liam
4. Lucas
5. Noah
6. Mason
7. Ethan
8. Caden
9. Logan
10. Jacob
It should be noted that the Baby Center's annual list is far from official. It includes similarly-spelled names together (Jackson and Jaxon) and uses self-reported data from more than 340,000 parents who share their newborns' names with the website.
It won't be until May that we'll have the official tally, as that's when the Social Security Administration releases their list for Americans which can be broken down by states.
The Baby Center does seem to get close to the exact count. In 2014, Mason was the most popular boys name in Pennsylvania and Emma was the top choice for girls, both names that made it to the top 10 for this year and last year according to the center.
