Donald Trump has chosen Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as his running mate. Which means New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will not be the Republican vice presidential candidate.
Christie was the first former 2016 candidate to endorse Trump, a move that many initially viewed as politically risky. Yet, as Trump moved closer to winning the party's nomination, Christie's name started popping up as a potential running mate. All the "I'm trapped" facial expressions and "Go home, Chris" sound bites looked like they might pay off with a shot at the White House.
The governor said on Tuesday he'd be a little bothered about not being picked because he's a competitive person but insisted it wouldn't get to him that much.
