Heavy pollen counts expected for first two weeks of May

Allergy sufferers beware as New Jersey doctor warns of upcoming pollen bonanza

Prepare yourselves for the Pollen Apocalypse.

OK, maybe that's being a touch dramatic. Still, as NJ.com reported, New Jersey residents suffering from pollen allergies are going to have a miserable beginning of May.

Allergist Leonard Bielory, who teaches at Rutgers and Thomas Jefferson University, told the website that pollen from two types of trees will be intensifying in New Jersey over the next two weeks.

Because of heavy snows during the winter, there was a slow pollen release in March — but it's all coming out now, much like the fluids that may soon be flowing out of your nose.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation recommends that people who suffer from pollen allergies should limit outdoor activities when pollen counts are high.
