The season for rooftop bars is not over. In fact, fall should be the favored time of year for outdoor drinking. Without the sweltering summer sun beating down, standing in limited shade is finally enjoyable.
Taking advantage of the fair weather, the Free Library of Philadelphia will host a pop-up rooftop beer garden on Sept. 30. The 21-plus crowd is invited to the Parkway Central branch's Skyline Terrace for five hours of drinking.

No ticket necessary to attend. Just pay-as-you-go for food and drink. Craft beers will be available to wash down sliders and snacks from Mitch Prensky of Global Dish Caterers and Scratch Biscuits.
A few lawn games will be set up on the rooftop, too. Rain or shine, the beer garden will be open.
The event is by the same team that put together Parks on Tap (the last one takes place Sept. 30 through Oct. 2).
