Four protesters who scaled a perimeter fence outside the Wells Fargo Center on Tuesday night were arrested and faces federal charges, according to the Secret Service.
About 8:30 p.m., the four jumped a fence and attempted to enter a Secret Service-designated secure zone, the agency said. They were promptly arrested by Philadelphia police and Secret Service officers and taken into custody. They were transported to the Philadelphia Federal Detention Center, officials said.
Facing federal charges for entering a restricted area, the protesters will appear before a magistrate judge on Wednesday.
If found guilty, the protesters could face a prison sentence of one year and/or a fine.
