The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Wednesday that they have opened the 21-day practice window for Bryce Huff's return from injured reserve.

Huff had a procedure done on his injured wrist in November. A source said that Huff tried to play through the injury in the Eagles' wins over the Cowboys and Commanders, but it was determined it would be best for Huff to have the procedure so that he could be closer to 100 percent later in the season.

After signing a three-year, $51 million contract this offseason in free agency, Huff has had a disappointing first season in Philly. He has 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble after racking up double-digit sacks in 2023 in his final season with the Jets. He played just 225 out of a possible 611 defensive snaps in the games that he was eligible to play.

With Huff out, more opportunities opened up for second-year pro Nolan Smith and third-round rookie Jalyx Hunt to get on the field.

While Huff is not the three-down player the Eagles hoped he could be, he can still perhaps contribute in a positive way as a situational pass rusher in the playoffs.
