Following the announcement that the cult classic show "Twin Peaks" would get a nine episode reboot on Showtime in 2016, the show's creator David Lynch delivered a potentially fatal blow to the revived series when he announced that he was leaving the project.
Well, concerned fans can now breath a sigh of relief. Lynch announced on Twitter Friday that the sequel was in fact happening, suggesting that he had returned to the show.
Dear Twitter Friends, the rumors are not what they seem ..... It is !!! Happening again. #TwinPeaks returns on @SHO_Network

The news that Lynch was back on board with the series will most likely be welcomed by the cast, who put together a video following his initial departure entitled "Twin Peaks without David Lynch is like...??"
Kyle Maclachlan, who portrayed FBI agent Dale Cooper in the original series, welcomed Lynch back in a series of tweets.

Showtime president David Nevins also welcomed Lynch back to the series in a statement Friday, announcing that he would direct the entire series and that it would include more episodes than the originally planned nine. From The Hollywood Reporter:
"This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!!”
So rest easy, "Twin Peaks" fans. The show will in fact happen again.
