Custodian becomes actual 'Elf on the Shelf' on top of Delco school

"The Elf on the Shelf," the children's Christmas toy that doubles as a way to prepare our youth for living in a police state, is inherently kind of creepy. The little elf doll comes with a highly successful book that explains to kids that their new friend watches them and reports back to Santa whether they've been naughty or nice. More simply, as our own Brian Hickey put it, he's a "snitch."

Well, students at a Delaware County elementary school not only have to worry about the North Pole watching their bad deeds at home. According to CBS3, kids at Aston Elementary School were greeted to a life-size "Elf on the Shelf" on top of the school Friday.

CBS has video of the elf, and let's just say it's very realistic. You know why? Because it's an actual person. The news station reports the man in the elf costume is the school's custodian, Chris Farmer.

At least it's an employee of the school, and not a very confused adult.
