Cory Booker to make 'Parks and Rec' appearance

Senator to join several politicians on the show

With his reelection campaign a few years down the road, U.S. Senator Cory Booker is making his case for an Emmy.


Not really, but New Jersey's first African American senator will make a guest appearance on NBC's "Parks and Recreation."

Booker will join U.S. Senators John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) in what he sees as a symbol of bipartisanship, according to NJ.com. The article notes that this won't be Booker's first television appearance, as he has appeared on "The Colbert Report" on several occasions and "The Nightly Show" with Larry Wilmore, the show that succeeded Colbert's Comedy Central show:


The episode that Booker appears on airs at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10th on NBC.

Booker won't be the first local politician to appear on the show. Vice President Joe Biden, a native of Wilmington, Delaware, was on Parks and Recreation as well:
