Bradley Cooper received his first Tony Award nomination Tuesday morning for his performance in the Broadway revival production of "The Elephant Man."
Cooper, of Jenkintown, Montgomery County, is nominated for "Best Lead Actor, Play," for his role as John Merrick, a real-life English man with deformities. Keeping Cooper company in the category are Bill Nighy ("Skylight"), Ben Miles ("Wolf Hall Parts One & Two"), Steven Boyer ("Hand to God") and Alex Sharp ("The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time").
"The Elephant Man" received four total nominations, including "Best Revival, Play." "An American in Paris" and "Fun Home" raked in the most nominations with 12 each.
