The body of Erica Crippen, a missing Mt. Laurel woman whose husband was charged with her murder, was discovered Tuesday in a field in rural Maryland, the Burlington County Times reported.
Crippen, a 26-year-old mother of two, went missing on New Year’s Eve. Her husband, Kyle Crosby, 28, was charged with her murder in January and remains at the Burlington County Jail in Mt. Holly on $1.2 million bail.

Crippen’s neck, hands and feet were bound with electrical wire, and silver duct tape was covering a substantial portion of her face, Burlington County prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi said at a news conference Wednesday, the Burlington County Times reported.
Investigators tracked the location of Crippen’s body through coordinates found in a GPS left in her red 2000 Ford Taurus, which was in Crosby’s possession when he was apprehended in Bellmawr, Camden County, on Jan. 12.
Bernardi added that authorities believe Crippen was killed in New Jersey and that Crosby later took the body to Maryland.
“It is a heinous crime. You have a married couple who, for whatever reason, it ends like this. And it happens all too often in our society today,” the Burlington County Times reported Bernardi as saying.
The cause and manner of Crippen’s death will be released pending an autopsy, which is being conducted in Baltimore.
