Concerns about Sixers star Ben Simmons' budding relationship with reality starlet and model Kendall Jenner aren't entirely overblown.
There's an alarming list of professional athletes who have been bitten by the Kardashian Curse—Rashad McCants, Miles Austin and LaMar Odom, to name a few. You have to hope Simmons turns out more like last season's MVP, James Harden, who didn't let the "worst" relationship of his life with Khloe Kardashian slow him down.
On the other hand, it may be better that Simmons is with Jenner than if he'd stayed with pop star Tinashe. She's reportedly following him around Los Angeles at various clubs where he's been out with Jenner, according to a report from TMZ.
Simmons broke things off with the 25-year-old singer earlier this year, reportedly telling friends that Tinashe was "way too public with everything" and would call in paparazzi to capture them together in public. She was moving too fast for Simmons, apparently. (So the logical thing to do next was date Kendall Jenner).
Simmons is reportedly so concerned about Tinashe's obsessiveness that he's considering beefing up his security team.
The report comes after Tinashe showed up at Hollywood club Delilah while Simmons and Jenner were together. She claimed that night that Simmons texted her while he was with Jenner, but later admitted she lied after Simmons confronted her about it.
Critics will note that none of this has anything to do with the Rookie of the Year developing a jump shot. It might be wise for him to get some practice video out there at some point this summer. If he doesn't do it himself, Tinashe might just leak surreptitious videos of him shooting bricks.
