Gone are the days of frantically searching for a parking spot before the train comes.
Amtrak has announced its partnership with Parking Panda, a service that allows customers to make online parking reservations.
Through the partnership, passengers can now compare available parking choices and prices in advance. Once they have purchased their reservation, customers can rest easy knowing their space will be waiting for them when they arrive.
"The next time you head to the train station, you can relax knowing you have a guaranteed parking space waiting for you.”
Amtrak customers can pre-purchase parking from Parking Panda's more than 12,000 parking lots and garages across 30 cities. The program features more than 30 stations, with more to be added through 2015.
“Amtrak is committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience, and that includes before they arrive at the station,” Matt Hardison, Amtrak chief marketing and sales officer, said in a press release. “By partnering with Parking Panda, we are providing an exceptional innovation to the parking experience, and our passengers will have less to worry about and more time to enjoy their journey with us.”
Parking passes are instantly emailed to passengers upon purchase. They can be printed or viewed on a smartphone through Parking Panda’s free iOS or Android apps. Space is always set aside for pre-reserved customers, guaranteeing they will receive a spot, even on the busy days.
“We all know too well the stress associated with searching and circling around for parking,” said Parking Panda CEO Nick Miller. “That’s why we’re so excited about this partnership and the opportunity to eliminate the pain of parking for Amtrak passengers. Passengers can rest easier knowing where they are going and what they are paying ahead of time. The next time you head to the train station, you can relax knowing you have a guaranteed parking space waiting for you.”
