The right side of the second passenger car, as viewed from the rear of the car, reveals extensive damage. Many windows were not in place or dislodged. The roof and top third of the car body side was crushed downward and the middle third of the right side bulged outward. The NTSB's examination was limited to the exterior because structural damage compromised the car's stability.
