As part of the 11th annual 40th Street Summer Series, the University City District will host a Summer Festival Saturday, July 25. The small park behind the Walnut Street West Free Library will be filled with carnival performers and live entertainment for a family-friendly night.

Live music will be provided by Mixed PeopleRed Cedar Strings and Au Jus. Styx Latte will lead a percussion workshop, Brian Bazemore will lead a mask-making activity, and martial arts lessons and face painting will be available. The Give and Take Jugglers will perform an act with trapeze, juggling and a tight wire; Bujee Magoo will dance and hula-hoop; Donna Oblongata will put on a puppet display; and fire dancers and balloon artists will be there.

Of course, you can't have a great festival without food. Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream and Philly Pretzels will give out free goodies while supplies last.
