$1 million Powerball ticket purchased in Northeast Philadelphia

The new year is looking rosy for the holder of a $1 million dollar Powerball Lottery ticket purchased in Northeast Philadelphia.

The million-dollar ticket in Wednesday's drawing was sold at a Sunoco gas station at 1560 Cottman Ave. in the Castor section of Philadelphia. The ticket correctly matched all five white balls drawn, 12-36-38-54-61, but not the red Powerball 22, to win $1 million, less applicable tax withholding. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Lottery officials cannot confirm the identity of the winners until the prizes are claimed and the ticket is validated. Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball winners have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes.

The Powerball jackpot rolled to an estimated annuity value of $334 million, or $205 million cash, for the Saturday, January 2, drawing.
