Statistically, Ertz is having the best season of his career, as he has 57 catches for 663 yards and 7 TDs. In his four previous years in the NFL, Ertz never had more than four TDs in any one season.
The Eagles were without Ertz earlier this season against the Denver Broncos, though his absence wasn't felt, as the Eagles scored more than 50 points that afternoon. However, in a huge NFC matchup against the 9-3 Rams, the Eagles can use all the weapons they can get, and Ertz has been Carson Wentz's most reliable target.
The Rams have allowed just 501 yards to opposing tight ends this season, which ranks them sixth in the NFL. That makes sense with a pair of athletic linebackers in Mark Barron (a former safety) and Alec Ogletree.
