Who's up for some free fast food to get you through the dog days of summer?
You'll have three opportunities this week. First, Chick-fil-A is giving away a free entree on Tuesday, July 11, for its annual Cow Appreciation Day. You have to dress like a cow to get it, but don't worry, the bar for the costume is pretty low. One year I just used a sharpie to draw spots on an old undershirt and was able to snag my free chicken sandwich. (Side note: What are the chances a hobbling Markelle Fultz is spotted in a cow costume at a Philadelphia Chick-fil-A on Tuesday?)
Next, pair your nuggets or sandwich with a free Slurpee from 7-Eleven. The convenience store chain is giving them away on Tuesday (because the date is 7/11, get it?). All you have to do is go in and grab your free small Slurpee anytime between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. No app, no gimmick, no nothing!
Then on Sunday, July 16, you can get a free vanilla ice cream cone at McDonald's in recognition of National Ice Cream Day. You have to download the McDonald's app to take advantage. The chain is pairing the promotion with a silly but fun social media campaign on Monday. Per a press release:
Today, @McDonalds jumpstarted the National Ice Cream Day celebration by complimenting Twitter users with personalized #SoftServed tweets. For 24 hours, select fans will receive surprise tweets from @McDonalds that are sweet just like its soft serve.
Good question, Joey. we believe the answer is: While reading the tweets on your page, SINCE YOUR TWITTER IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! #SoftServedπ¦π
