Robert Griffin III is probably going to be released by the Redskins, seeing as Washington named Kirk Cousins the starter, and Griffin's $16 million-plus roster option in 2016 is fully guaranteed if he gets injured. The Redskins most certainly do not want to be on the hook for that $16 million, and there's no way in hell any team is trading for Griffin and the contract that would come along with him.
And so, as with any notable player with a big name who might become available, fans of the other 31 teams are going to ask, "Should (fill in the team) go get that guy?"
There's the notion that Chip Kelly loves him some mobile quarterbacks, and I suppose Tim Tebow would count as an example of one he signed, but that really hasn't proven to be true in most cases when you consider that the other notable quarterbacks he has brought aboard (Sam Bradford, Matt Barkley, Mark Sanchez, etc) have never topped 125 rushing yards in a single season. Would Kelly like a smart, accurate quarterback who also has the ability to run? Sure, but clearly the mobile aspect is not the prerequisite feature of a Chip QB that we thought it might be when he was hired.
In terms of Griffin's fit with the Eagles, if Sam Bradford had looked like junk during the preseason, then sure, maybe the Eagles might consider it. But the reality is that the Eagles clearly thought highly of Bradford when they brought him in, and I would have to imagine he has exceeded their expectations so far. Frankly, Griffin likely wouldn't even be able to compete at this point with Mark Sanchez for the backup spot, seeing as Sanchez is on the payroll for $4.5 million per season, and has proven he can steer the ship for a reasonable stretch of games if need be.
In terms of the Eagles' fit for Griffin, I'm not sure the former #2 overall pick who thinks as highly of himself as Griffin does would be interested in being little more than a glorified Tebow on this Eagles roster. There are certainly better opportunities around the league for Griffin to to find work and actually get back out onto the playing field.
So in summary, no.
