A woman was shot in the face at a kosher bakery in the Overbrook section of the city Friday morning, NBC10 reports.
The shooting occurred during an apparent robbery at the Best Cake Kosher Bakery along the 7500 block of Haverford Ave.
The victim, a 57-year-old woman who owns the bakery, was shot in the chin. The bullet became lodged in her chin, but she was able to call 911, authorities said.
She was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.
Police believe the woman's pocketbook was stolen during the shooting.
The shooting is under investigation.
